Character Education
Each morning our students recite our school pledge to Stop, Think and Act Responsibly (STAR)
This commitment to teaching our students the value of respect and responsibility are reinforced by the staff in the classrooms, playground and lunch area. This can take the form of polite language, such as "please" and "thank you." Students are encouraged to treat each other with respect and learn to solve problems with skills taught in class.
As our students progress through the grades, they are increasingly taught responsible behavior in the areas of organization and work effort. This year we are continuing our Character Trait of the Month to promote this philosophy. Each month, the character trait will be talked about at Morning Flag Ceremony, in the classrooms and on the playground. Students exemplifying this trait will be recognized at our special award's assemblies each month. These students will receive a school certificate and one from a local restaurant.
Your child's teacher will notify you when your child will be recognized. We hope you join us!
